Heavy campaigning continues at the Nopat & Taktiikka club (check the new website!) with a Battle Companies based campaign located near Enedwaith (SouthWest Middel Earth). Campaign is organized by Jaakko S. and he has added a nice campaign mode to Battle companies. Ruleset in Finnish here.

Several new or returning players joined the ranks of us veterans and once again Adrian took up the mantle of a TO. Soon players were flocking in and we had a tournament with 12 players all set at the club!

420 miniatures painted / finished this year

Campaigning really boosts productivity

I've played several campaigns this year and this focusing on  one army has gotten me to finish a lot of Rus / Medieval Russian and some of their allies this year. And there are many that have been started and will probably end up being finished before the year end. I've decided, that during December, I won't start any new miniatures, but will focus on finalising the ones started earlier. I'm still aiming to get 600 minis finished this year!

In this blogpost you'll pictures of minis painted after summer - more than a hundred of them.

P.S. I don't know why, but my Mac (with Chrome) messes up the order of the pictures...

As our first go for Helms Deep was such a blast, two other Lotr-enthusiasts Kalle and Jaakko wanted to get their piece of action. This time I commanded the evil forces of Isengard as Jaakko my second in command, while Mikko, whom had stormed the deepening wall last time, was now defending it. Not a complete report this time, but plenty of pics and some high lights. You can familiarize yourself with the scenario and special rules from the report of the previous game.

Our LOTR -saga continued with Marko and Kalle - the plan is to play all the scenarios related to the book. So now the Fellowship has left Rivendell and they are attacked by pack of vargs, that seems to have endless amount of vicious and hairy beasts!

I had painted few more beasties for the game.

Winning criteria in this scenario was: if vargs could kill before end of the game (duration was random) either 5 members of the Fellowship OR just Frodo, the evil side would win. Dead vargs were recycled and could enter the battle a fresh from the next round. 

Super Gaming Week: Game 1. LOTR

Good shall prevail!

First game of super duper gaming (and painting) week was a 2 vs. 2 LOTR game with my friends Marko (Sharkey and his evil minions), Kalle P. (Isengard with Dunlending focus) as the evil side and my elves and Adrian's (guest player from Turku, whom we new from LOTR Finland fb-group) stout dwarven force led by Gimli and Legolas (whom this time won their body count easily!).
