UPDATED: Nopat Club's Winter War event closing in!

UPDATED: Airfield -project & loads of Japanese

Our Clubs annual gaming event is next week and I'll be running the Bolt Action tournament with another Nopat Fellow Juha. Nowadays Nopat Winter War is the biggest miniature wargaming event in Finland with tournaments also for 9th Age, 40K, Flames, Warmachine & Hordes and Infinity.

I've been building & painting stuff for a spesific BA Scenario "Air field raid", that I've designed and play tested (3 times now). Read more about the scenario, test games and see WIP pics on stuff I'm working on.

MDF Japanese Buildings

New terrain for both Sengogu & WW2 periods

As I'm planning to try out Kings of War Historical with my Samurai era -army and preparing an airfield raid -scenario for Bolt Action, I was fired up to build my Sarissa Precision Japanese buildings, that I've had for a year or so (probably two).

Russo-Swedish War 1808-1809 - first Finns WIP

These Savolax Jägers are made from French Dragoons on foot (Perry). Heads are from some other plastic napoleonic set. I had them in my bitsbox. See the others and learn how they were made.

GNW: Getting ready for Narva and Poltava

Defensive Works for the Great Northern War

(and other Black Powder -era games)

As a continuation for the already built earthwork defensive line I started modeling a redoubt and another defensive line, that will be suitable for snowy battlefield - like Narva.

GNW: Camping out

As our Great Northern War Campaign progresses more troops and related terrain is needed. Our participants are actively painting more troops for the coming battle of Narva, so I got the inspiration to make more terrain for our scenarios. This time it's a camp for our miniature soldiers to take some rest in.

Unboxing Conquest Games' Medieval Archers

Archers for Vikings, Anglo-Saxons, Crusaders...

Visited London last weekend with my daughter and besides doing everything Harry Potter -related I managed to sneak into good ol' Orcs Nest store and found what I was looking for new Medieval Archers from Conquest Games.

After getting back home I couldn't resist for long and had to try and put few of them together and naturally do some kitbashing as well...

KITBASH! Building Thorakitai for Successors

Thorakitai shall rule the battlefields of Mare Nostrum!

I wanted to build some more Thorakitai for my Alexander's Successors army for our Mare Nostrum Hail Caesar Campaign. I would have build them from Victrix very nice Carthagenians, but they weren't available in our local games store :-(, hence I bought a package WLG's Caesar's Legions and started kitbashin' them with bits from different hellenistic sets. Read on!

Something for the barbarians to fight for (or over)

A Holy Place?

Of course I had to make a shrine for the barbarians as well, since the scenario of the  second round of our Mare Nostrum Campaign  is about protecting / capturing holy places.
See more "production" pictures in this blogpost.

Mare Nostrum Campaign - Building Greek temples

Making of NOT RUINED Greek buildings

Our Mare Nostrum Campaign got me started on producing more terrain, mainly building for our games. This included putting together two resin temples from Scotia Grendel and upgrading one of them and an earlier production (Hirst blocks) with a roofs and fronts with reliefs.

Fire!!!

This is  something I've been planning to do for a long time: fire and smoke for our battle fields

"Building" a demolished castle wall section

As part of our excellent Saga: Crescent & Cross -campaign we played a big team game last weekend in Ropecon. The game was a team game of 2 vs. 2, where us, the attacking saracens had 2 X 6 point Saga-warbands and the defenders had 2 X 4 point armies - and the castle.

It was really a great game (see plenty of pictures in Mika's blog here) and since we demolished a wall section in it, I just had to build (= demolish) one. Now I'm hoping to be able to use it soon.

I'll probably write a report about the game as well, but this blog is about constructing that piece of scenery.
