If you're into ASOIAF and have an internet connection, you probably know Yecats Miniatures and their YouTube channel. I've visited the channel as a guest a couple of times and as I was on a holiday in UK, we agreed to have a game at his house, near London.
I've been building The Others army since 2019, it was originally designed by Yannic & co. for the 1.5 season of Song but has now been redesigned by Board man gaming, find it here.
Since familiarizing myself with Shane's (BMG) awesome work, I've been brooding to play with them again. This week it happened with a club mate Ilmo, playing Greyjoys
Finished some paint jobs too:
FF Heroes converted: Harma, Rattleshirt, Styr, Weaper & Great Walrus
Some more armoured troops, including a converted Styr's chosen.
In Song we mainly use 2D terrain (check my 3D terrain here) so to fill the "visuality gap" of the game, I've modelled several "Diorama Tactics Board". Latest one is based on 3D printed Dragonstone board used as the base. Read on to learn how these were made!
With some mates from the club we had already discussed for some time, that visiting a tournament in Central Europe and specially in Poland (as they've had several large tournaments) would be cool. After a very positive experience in visiting Swedish Nationals in May, three of signed up for Poland. We expected the tournament to exceed 100 players, but it eventually 171 players from 7 countries battled it out. Many of the pictures are a courtesy from Warfactory Poland.
When I got the opportunity to buy a large collection of Baratheons from a friend, I just couldn't resist it! Baratheons really don't play into my usual play style (strike fast, strike hard), but I really like many of the miniatures like Stag Knights and Rose Knights. So why the heck not!
We have quite a competitive Song scene at our Nopat &Taktiikka club in Helsinki and we wanted to play something else for a change. We have already played Battle of Bastards and now it was time for an epic scenario from the first book, or should I say inspired by it. Check out the scenario here
Nopat & Taktiikka Wargaming Club, Helsinki, organizes the traditional and annual major wargaming event every winter since many, many years. For a couple of years Song has been one of the seven or so different tournaments in the event. This time we agreed with CMON to have the Finnish Nationals status and this boosted our tournament to a new record in players (26, 18 last year) and broiught a flux of players from abroad too! We also received a generous prize support from CMON - THANK YOU!
ASOAIF community is buzzing about the approaching release (hopefully during Q4 this year) of this new faction for our favorite game! Last weekend in Gencon (US) the starter set and minis were shown to the public for the first time. Based on what was seen there and some information leaked before, the community has stitched together enough resources to facilitate actually giving Martells a go!
This week we played a first game with them, facing their current allies - House Targaryen!
Winter War tournament has for many many years been the largest wargaming event in Finland, organized by our club Nopat & Taktiikka. It caters tournaments for many games including The 9th Age, Flames of War, MESBG, Bolt Action and this year for the first time ASOIAF TMG. I was organizing this tournament with my mate Jaakko as the second TO. Read all about it!

As a tournament house rule or comp Dragons would "only" do D3+2 wounds with their attack. There were also several restrictions to Nightswatch, but none of the participants chose to play them...
What a dramatic end to our third map based ASOIAF campaign!
My team House Tully (aka Starks) were leading the campaign, after my victory over Free Folk and capturing Highgarden from them, with a nice margin after four rounds. Campaign didn't end there, but continued to round five.
