In Song we mainly use 2D terrain (check my 3D terrain here) so to fill the "visuality gap" of the game, I've modelled several "Diorama Tactics Board". Latest one is based on 3D printed Dragonstone board used as the base. Read on to learn how these were made!

Good to be BACK!

Hamburger Tactica is my most favourite Wargames Show (I've been to Salute, Warfare and local smaller events too). It combines beautiful tables (Germans really excel at this), a good catering of demogames to play, good range of traders and after 4 visits already quite a bunch of nice people I've already gotten to know! Also "bring and buy" has always been a great opportunity to buy stuff you didn't really know you were needing! So it was good to back after too many years of break - I last visited in 2017.

The long wait to get back into "Samurai-gaming" was finally over. Throughout the fall of 2017 we had been chatting about getting a small Ronin campaign going with my mates Joonas and Juha (a 4th player needed!). Joonas had the responsibility to get us organized, but our good doctor seemed too busy... Finally in our club's Christmas party (held in January) I managed to corner him and we agreed this date our calendars!

The Finnish (Swedish) push continues!

Finally the snow has melted in northern Finland and the Finns are encouraged after the victory in Revonlahti. Now Adlercreutz, Von Öttern and Von Döbeln were marching and circling the small town of Nykarleby in order to take out the Russian forces there...

First day of Tactica started with shopping frenzy,

focusing in to the Excellent fleamarket.

Hamburger Tactica - day 0: Lubeck

This time 4 out 5 from our Tactica-team headed towards

Lubeck instead of doing the @routine tour of Hamburg, as we have done quite a few times already. Change is nice!

Our Clubs annual gaming event is next week and I'll be running the Bolt Action tournament with another Nopat Fellow Juha. Nowadays Nopat Winter War is the biggest miniature wargaming event in Finland with tournaments also for 9th Age, 40K, Flames, Warmachine & Hordes and Infinity.

I've been building & painting stuff for a spesific BA Scenario "Air field raid", that I've designed and play tested (3 times now). Read more about the scenario, test games and see WIP pics on stuff I'm working on.

MDF Japanese Buildings

New terrain for both Sengogu & WW2 periods

As I'm planning to try out Kings of War Historical with my Samurai era -army and preparing an airfield raid -scenario for Bolt Action, I was fired up to build my Sarissa Precision Japanese buildings, that I've had for a year or so (probably two).

GNW: Camping out

As our Great Northern War Campaign progresses more troops and related terrain is needed. Our participants are actively painting more troops for the coming battle of Narva, so I got the inspiration to make more terrain for our scenarios. This time it's a camp for our miniature soldiers to take some rest in.
