MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: Race for finishing 250 , I mean 300 miniatures in 2017

Completing painting projects

On 2nd of January I wrote in my blog:

"I want to make a promise for myself for 2017: I will finalize most of the miniatures I start / have started painting earlier."

So now I'm trying my best to live up to this promise and have a "race" going to finish a total of 250 miniatures this year. As you can see from the picture, there's a lot to finish (ok some of them are really quite finished, but I just want to give them a final check).

I started my race around mid December and at that time my count was 170 finished miniatures. I will update this post daily to track the progress. You can also track it in Instagram, my insta-account is "wanhaherrat".

GNW: Battle of Narva 1700 - report completed

Scenario was fine tuned after Tuesday's play testing (slightly easier for Swedes) and three regiment commanders were assigned to take command of the Swedish Karoliner. All of them had painted at least one unit for the army, this made me very happy. We were ready to the biggest Muskets & Tomahawks game so far played at the Nopat-club. Read on how did the battle unfold!

GNW Campaign: Russian villages are burning!

Burn & Loot!

Today we played another practise game of "Muskets & Pikes" eg. Musket & Tomahawks -variant being fine tuned for The Great Northern War -campaign we'll soon start, Aito took charge of Swedes and Finns (Pori Regiment mainly, where he actually works as an officer today!) Those evil Swedes were raiding local Russian villages and heroic forces of General Kujalasov hurried to stop or at least to reap vengeance...

Few rules were also discussed... Read on!

Army lists for Great Nothern War variant of Muskets & Tomahawks

Great Northern War Update 27.1.

Recruiting of players have been quate successful and first play test will be next week (Friday 5th of Feb.). For that I have toiled on with painting - Russians coming up as well. Tonight however I have worked on army lists for Swedes and Russians. I must say I'm quite please with the result and the flavor the lists have.

GNW Campaign plans getting shape

I'm currently recruiting players for the GNW-Campaign. I've modified content I've received from my Swedish contacts - Tack ska ni ha Miniature Mayhem & Black Powder Games!

Here's the plan for battles to be re-fought and a roster for a Regiment to be played by a nominated player.

Great Northern War: Second wave soon to be ready

More Ebor and Warfare Miniatures being painted...

It seems that a GNW-fever has struck me. Last night I painted until 2 AM, even if I had some work to do today. I also started the lamination of the activation cards for the Muskets & Tomahawks variant for GNW (while I was actually playing a game of LOTR at the Nopat-club, something else for a change).

Here are few WIP  -pics. Painting continues...

beating retreating French in Denmark

A few days back, I had the nice opportunity to visit a fellow blogger Kaspar in Struer Denmark. We had fast Paced game of his adapted version of Muskets & Tomahawks: 1812 Retreat from Moscow.

Since I'm traveling with family, I'll link Kaspar's report here:

1812 Retreat from Moscow - first game played!

This was truly a white death...

My White Death 1812 project (see the relevant project page) reached it's first climax as a first demo game was played tonight at our gaming club. Since my Russians and father winter brutally crushed the hapless French, my always so cunning friend and opponent Jaakko made sure that his version was the first to be published: http://napoleon-complex-gaming.blogspot.fi/2015/05/1812-white-death.html

The actual PRAVDA is now broadcasted on this channel... read on!

First Retreat from Moscow to be played tonight!

Ladies and gentleman, this is the moment you've all... I mean I have waited for!

First game will be played tonight. This has meant frantic painting for the last week, since I'm providing almost all minis for the game, Then again, painting these beautiful minis has truly been a pleasure!
