Hobby year 2025 in retrospect and plans for 2026 - WIP

Highlights of the hobby year

Higlight of the year was certainly participating in The Invitationals -event, where 100 top Song players from around the world played in a team tournament and in the two day main event. 

Lot's and lot's of playing during 2025 (which shows a bit in the number of painted miniatures). There were many tournaments, which made this number possible. Song continues as my number one game with a new record of 134 games during the year.

Painting continued on a high level of output, even if the total of completed miniatures was a bit less then earlier (531 miniatures in 2024), probably because  I played more during 2025. I have a feeling, that the number of started, but not completed miniatures was also higher then before.

Further highlights during 2025

Won the first Song tournament of the year in January with my Martells. All together during 2025 I organized and participated in 11 Song tournaments - 5 of them abroad. Hence the huge number of Song-games played.

During the winter and early spring we played a Congo campaign with Martin, that was a lot of fun!

My British adventurers lead by the lady XXX managed to accomplish their mission and win the campaign. Total of 6 games were played.

The Invitational

In the end of March 6 Finnish Song players headed to Stockport (Manchester) to participate in the invitation based tournament of best Song players and people being active community builders. I'm more of the latter, but did quite well in the tournament. See a dedicated blogpost about it (link in the heading above).

Weather in the UK was already quite nice - dream of Spring!

Met many community friends f2f for the first time

My Brotherhood King's (Beric's) Men was awarded as the best painted unit.

SONG - Finnish Nationals in April

I was organising this tournament with Seppo and Pasi. We decided NOT to do this in the Winter War event, as we would only have gotten 20 seats. We ended with 30 players.
